COPPA Notice

GoPBIS is a school-directed educational service. Schools use it to manage positive behavior supports, behavior records, rewards, and student movement. GoPBIS does not ask children to create consumer accounts independently.

Operator and contact

GoPBIS operates the service described in this notice. Questions about a child’s information may be sent to support@gopbis.com. Families should also contact their child’s school, which can verify the request and manage its educational records.

Information collected from or about children

A school may provide a student’s name, student identifier, grade, class, gender, school-provided email, and account credentials. Through ordinary school use, GoPBIS may process PBIS points and awards, comments, reward activity, behavior incidents and consequences, hall passes, student-life records, and timestamps. The service also processes a first-party device identifier, session information, browser information, and security records needed to operate and protect the account.

How the information is used

We use children’s information only for the educational service requested and authorized by the school: displaying the student’s account, recording school activity, supporting staff workflows, generating school reports, maintaining security, providing support, and keeping the service reliable. GoPBIS does not use children’s information for targeted advertising, sell it, or create commercial advertising profiles.

School authorization and parental consent

Where permitted by COPPA, a school or district may act as the parent’s agent and authorize collection for a school-directed educational purpose. GoPBIS relies on that authorization only for the school context and does not shift GoPBIS’s COPPA responsibilities to the school. If GoPBIS offers a child-directed use outside the school-authorized educational context, we will provide any required direct notice and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information unless a legal exception applies.

Disclosure

Children’s information is visible to the student and authorized school users according to assigned roles. It may be processed by service providers that support hosting, data storage, authentication, security, and transactional communications under restrictions that limit their use. We may also disclose information when directed by the school, required by law, or necessary to protect a child, users, or the service. GoPBIS does not allow students to post their personal information publicly through the platform.

Review, deletion, and further collection

A parent or guardian may ask to review a child’s personal information, correct it, have it deleted, or prevent further collection or use. Please begin with the child’s school so it can verify identity and determine the appropriate treatment of its educational record. The school or parent may also contact GoPBIS at the address above. We will cooperate with verified requests and the school’s lawful instructions.

Retention and security

We keep a child’s information only as long as reasonably necessary for the school-authorized educational purpose, applicable school instructions, backup cycles, and legal requirements. We use reasonable access, session, encryption, tenant-separation, backup, and operational safeguards designed to protect confidentiality, security, and integrity.
